Build one of the most famous naval fighters of World War II with the Airfix 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero.
When it entered service in 1940, the Mitsubishi A6M Zero was one of the most advanced carrier fighters in the world. Lightweight, exceptionally maneuverable and capable of very long range, the Zero quickly gained a fearsome reputation during the opening stages of the Pacific War.
The A6M2b Model 21 became the most important early production version of the Zero and introduced features including folding wing tips for carrier operations and increased fuel capacity. These improvements helped make the aircraft ideally suited to the long-range operations required across the vast Pacific theater.
Airfix’s modern 1/72 tooling captures the elegant lines of the Model 21 in an accessible 47-part kit, making it an excellent choice for both newer modelers and experienced builders looking for a straightforward WWII aircraft project.

Yoshiro Hashiguchi was an experienced Imperial Japanese Navy pilot who served throughout the Pacific War and was credited with at least ten aerial victories. The included markings depict his Zero during the period when the A6M2 was still one of the dominant fighters in the Pacific.
With its distinctive early-war markings, historic significance and approachable construction, the Airfix Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero is an excellent addition to any 1/72 Pacific War or Japanese aviation collection.
Paint and glue are required for assembly and are sold separately.
