About Carpet Monster Hobbies: Built by a Modeler, for Modelers

A Technical Approach to the Scale Modeling Hobby

Carpet Monster Hobbies was founded in Berryville, Virginia, by a lifelong builder with over 30 years of experience. With a professional technical background, our founder brings precision and attention to detail to the hobby shop experience.

We don’t just move boxes—we understand the chemistry of the paints we sell, the engineering of the kits we stock, and the specific needs of the scale modeling community.

Why We Started Carpet Monster Hobbies

The “Carpet Monster” is a legend every modeler knows—the void that swallows tiny photo-etch parts the moment they hit the floor. We chose the name because we’ve been there.

Our shop was built to support the Northern Virginia and East Coast modeling community with a curated selection of high-end supplies that larger retailers often overlook.

Expertly Curated Scale Model Kits & Supplies

We believe in quality over quantity. Every product we carry is something we have used ourselves or would confidently use on our own workbench.

- Precision Paints: We specialize in high-performance finishes like MRP airbrush-ready paints, Tamiya acrylics, and Mr. Hobby products
- Curated Kits: From 1/48 aircraft to 1/35 armor and Master Grade Gundam (Gunpla)
- Pro-Build Services: Professional, museum-quality assembly and finishing for collectors
