Custom Model Builds

Carpet Monster Hobbies offers professionally built scale models finished to a clean, display-ready standard. These builds are ideal for collectors, gift buyers, and militaria enthusiasts who want a high-quality finished model without the time commitment of building it themselves.

All builds are completed right here in our Berryville, VA shop for clients locally and nationwide. using professional paints, careful assembly, and subtle weathering for a realistic finish.

Every custom build includes:

  • Out-of-the-box assembly
  • Professional paint application
  • Decals applied and sealed
  • Light, realistic weathering
  • Clean final finish suitable for display

Models are delivered fully assembled and ready to display.


Flat Pricing by Scale

We keep pricing simple and transparent.

  • 1/72 scale aircraft – $199
  • 1/48 scale aircraft – $299
  • 1/35 Armor - $299
  • 1/32 and larger scale aircraft – $599
  • Any other scales please contact me

Pricing is for labor only. Model kits are supplied by the customer unless purchased through our store (10% kit discount if purchased through us)

Customization Option

For customers who want something other than standard box markings, we offer a single flat customization option.

Custom Build Option — +$100

This applies to any deviation from the kit’s standard markings or colors, including:

  • Custom paint schemes
  • Specific aircraft or unit markings
  • Customer-supplied decals
  • Non-standard color layouts

This fee covers one agreed design and must be selected before the build begins.

Resin re-work, major structural modifications, or extensive aftermarket conversions are not offered.

Sourcing Your Kit Through Us

If you purchase your model kit through Carpet Monster Hobbies, we’ll knock a little off the build price since it simplifies sourcing and handling.

Turnaround & Policies

  • Typical turnaround time is 3–6 weeks, depending on scale and workload
  • All options must be selected before work begins
  • No mid-build changes or additions
  • Shipping is charged separately; insured shipping is recommended
