Airfix 1/48 North American Mustang Mk.IV / P-51K Mustang – A05137
Build one of World War II's most iconic Allied fighters with the Airfix 1/48 North American Mustang Mk.IV / P-51K Mustang plastic model kit. This detailed kit captures the distinctive appearance of the Merlin-powered Mustang as operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) during the closing stages of WWII.
Developed from the legendary P-51 Mustang, the P-51K featured an Aeroproducts propeller that distinguished it from the more familiar P-51D. Known in RAF service as the Mustang Mk.IVa, this variant combined exceptional range, speed, and maneuverability, making it a formidable long-range escort fighter.
Airfix recreates this historic aircraft in 1/48 scale, offering detailed cockpit components, finely represented exterior features, and two distinctive Commonwealth marking options.

A Legendary Allied Fighter
The North American P-51 Mustang earned its reputation as one of the finest piston-engine fighters of World War II. Originally developed in response to a British requirement, the aircraft achieved its full potential after receiving the powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.
With its impressive combat radius, excellent high-altitude performance, and six .50-caliber machine guns, the Mustang played a critical role in protecting Allied bombers over occupied Europe. The P-51K continued this legacy, serving with American and Commonwealth forces during the final years of the war.
This Airfix kit is an excellent choice for modelers looking to add a distinctive RAF or RAAF Mustang to their WWII aircraft collection.
Please Note: This is an unassembled plastic model kit. Paint, glue, and modeling tools are sold separately.
